Navodayan.me is a social layer connecting Navodayans. An inclusive platform designed to foster connections to empower. The beauty of navodayan.me goes beyond just reconnecting with Navodayans .
As we navigate the ups and downs of life, it's easy to feel lost and alone. But with navodayan.me, users can tap into a network of people who have known them for years and offer the understanding and comfort that only comes from shared experiences. To hear and to be heard, we have created a virtual co-space where the user gets access to a network of people who offer understanding , comfort and opportunities .
History
The idea for navodayan.me stemmed from an experience one of our founders had a few years back. Left stranded in Chennai with a stolen wallet and an almost empty charged mobile phone, our co-founder Amal resorted to asking for help in a Navodayan Facebook group about the situation. A few moments later, incredibly, a Navodayan studying in Chennai came to Amal’s aid having no prior connections between the two. The Navodayan took Amal to his hostel room, provided a bed and food, booked a bus ticket back home, and gave money for the road. The instinct to go beyond what we normally would do for a stranger struck a chord with Amal. Situations like these are faced frequently, and knowing that a Navodayan was out there who could lend a helping hand is a comforting thought. The only thing missing was a platform for this to happen.
So in Feb of 2021, 3 of us started a platform to support Navodayan job seekers who were out of jobs due to the pandemic. To make this happen, we connected with Navodayan alumni working at high ranking jobs. The alumni then played a huge role in connecting the Navodayans to jobs and giving out referrals. Later on, navodayan.me delved into providing scholarships for students in need of financial aid, again with funds provided by Navodayan alumni once they were informed about the profile.
